Visual brand identity and design for a ten-week integrated campaign built around the world’s first conference on Human Augmentation and cyborg culture. The live event focused on the intersection between the game’s theme and whether human augmentation should be a human right in the modern era.

NAMING
By 2025, we may no longer be using terms like “handicapped” or “disabled”. With advances in design, technology, and human curiousity, we are now able to redesign the human not only to heal itself but also to reach potential beyond imagination. Integrating the letter “X” conjures the unknown in mathematics and nods to the X as used in SXSW — another great conference of evocative conversations.

CNN’S COURAGEOUS BRAND STUDIO TO PRODUCE CONFERENCE ON HUMAN AUGMENTATION: HUMAN BY DESIGN

Square Enix aligns with first-of-its-kind event to explore the intersection of technology and humanity at the Paley Center for Media in August 2016

CNN’s brand studio Courageous is partnering with Square Enix®, publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in the Americas, to host a first-of-its-kind conference on human augmentation. Human by Design will be held at the Paley Center* for Media in New York City on August 3, 2016, and explore the intersection of technology and humanity with the objective of bringing together top minds to debate, question, and challenge what it means to be human.

humanXdesign explores the intersection of human and machine. As such, the visual identity of this groundbreaking event represents the harmonious bond of biology and technology using imagery, colors, shapes, and pattern that evoke both the natural and industrial worlds.

 

Human by Design is a one-day conference that explores the world of human augmentation with two goals: First, to bring together the top minds to debate, question, and challenge ‘What it Means to be Human.’ And second, to create a code of ethics for Human Augmentation that can serve as a way forward.
